About me
For 23 years I taught various levels of high school English, including general, college preparatory, and Advanced Placement courses. Since 2024, I've been a TOSA with the Kern High Teacher Residency Program and an Adjunct Lecturer at California State University, Bakersfield's Teacher Education Department where I've taught Assessments in Teaching, Literacy Across the Curriculum, and TPA 1 and 2 courses. Having started my career as an under-credentialed teacher, I personally experienced the importance of collaboration, mentorship, quality research-based training and ongoing professional development for an educator’s long-term success. This understanding inspired my pursuit of opportunities in mentoring and residency-based teaching models and speaks to my belief that I can always continue to learn and refine my teaching practice.
